K-9 alert prompts search

Officials deployed the canine after receiving a report about a suspicious commercial rig. The alert prompted agents and deputies to inspect the vehicle. The team found 20 people concealed inside its trailer. Deputies took the driver into custody at the scene.

Border Patrol wrote, “Those who endanger lives for profit will be found, arrested, and held accountable.” The quote appeared in the agency’s public notice. Authorities named no suspected organization. The release identified no additional suspects.

Officials have not released the driver’s identity, stop name or destination. The agency provided no ages, nationalities, cargo details or medical information. Authorities have not announced charges. Its notice identifies no carrier or trucking company.
