We are hiring experienced Class A CDL Company Drivers for over-the-road dry van freight with consistent miles, strong weekly pay, and dependable routes throughout the Midwest, Mid-Central, South, and Southeast regions. This is a 1099 company driver position designed for professional drivers who want steady work, simple freight, and reliable weekly settlements.
Position Information
Position Type: 1099 Company Driver
Pay Rate: $0.67 per mile, paid on all miles (loaded and empty)
Weekly Pay Average: $1,500 to $2,000 based on miles driven
Pay Schedule: Paid every Friday
Yearly Driver Pay Increases: Available based on performance and tenure
Additional Compensation
Breakdown Pay: $150 per day when applicable
Layover Pay: $150 per day when applicable
Dock Detention Pay: Paid after 4 hours at customer facilities
Home Time
Drivers typically run 3 to 4 weeks out with 3 to 4 days at home. This schedule is ideal for drivers who prefer longer runs with meaningful home time between trips.
Route and Miles
Average Miles Per Week: 2,800 to 3,000 miles
Average Length of Haul: 400 to 500 miles per load
Running Areas: Midwest, Mid-Central, South, and Southeast regions
Common freight lanes include Wisconsin to North Carolina, Kentucky to Tennessee, Kentucky to Ohio, and Michigan regional runs. Routes are planned to maximize miles while maintaining safe and legal driving schedules.
Freight and Equipment
Freight Type: Dry van, general commodities
No Touch Freight: Drivers are not required to load or unload
Trailer Type: 53-foot dry van trailers
Transmission: Automatic trucks
Truck Speed: Governed at 70 miles per hour
Equipment is regularly maintained to ensure safety, comfort, and minimal downtime. Drivers are assigned reliable late-model tractors and quality trailers.
Driver Responsibilities
Safely operate tractor-trailer equipment in compliance with all DOT and company regulations
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any maintenance issues
Deliver freight on time and communicate professionally with dispatch and customers
Maintain accurate logs and required documentation
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
Driver Requirements
Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
No SAP drivers
Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations
Must pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background checks
Ability to operate automatic transmission tractor-trailers safely and efficiently
